Welcome to participate in our new team starting November 2010. Read a short introduction of the program below and if you are interested, contact us. You can also read more in the uploaded DI-booklet.

New teams starting March, May, September and November.

The general 11 months program:

Education in Community Development.

5 months studies combined with practical actions

5 months working and living in a project area, usually in a poor rural area

1 months evaluation and information work

The 5 months education in YID is special. 

Each week has its theme. 

In this way you have the possibility to dig deeper in a subject - using courses, stiudies and also teah others - a very good method as you actually learn double this way!

The topics are:

Introduction to YID, HPP, Development work, how to study at this school, expectations

Poverty in the world and in China, Poverty Alleviation

Health

AIDS . learn the basics, teach about AIDS, make public arrangement

Environment and farming - challenges in our time

Using your creativity - produce theatre, songs, posters, poems - as a method to spread knowledge

Project skills - which is a big topic we take mainly during the last 6 weeks of the period at YID. It includes: Management, leadership, how to design a project, partnership report writing, monitoring and evaluation, planning, production of material, ready for challenges of all kinds, time management

During the entire 5 months at YID you constantly work with team building - building your own team, and building teams at other places - e.g. with your club, which you rund on a weekly basis. This gives you expereince in cooperating with children, with teachers, and it teaches you about being a good teacher, as a development instructor is actually a teacher when working in the project areas. You also go to many schools to teach - can be English Corner, Team building, Environment or about AIDS.

Are you ready for such challenges?

Demands: You are 18 years old. You have a basic English. As a foreigner - that you learn oral Chinese during the 5 months. Basic Computer skills. Passion for people and for development work. You can pay the school fee.
