We have a dream. One day all our students will talk about a book during their dinner instead of talking about the net game…

We have a dream. One day all the employees can contribute with their creative ideas to make the economy of a company better instead of laughing at their bosses that they are stupid…

We have a dream. One day all the people will genuinely understand the status in our country instead of being interested in the silly entertainment news…

We trust that all of us can realize that we can do much better and more than we are doing now…Yes! We need a change!

Leadership is a capability to influence others. A good leader shows integrity and creativity; he is ready to take responsibility and to challenge himself; he is displaying a confident calmness also in stress situations, he is inspiring people to reach out for new heights…

That’s why we think that leadership skills are important for people’s change. They provide people with the capability and vision for their change.

At 29 November 2009, YID 2009 September team held the first round of the YID 2009 Winter Leadership Workshop. The workshop has been held for a whole day. Around 100 college students participated.

We separated our leadership workshop in 7 key sections:

1.       What is a good leader and how can he influence others?

2.       How can you build a team out from a group?

3.       How can you mobilize team members?

4.       Make a good plan

5.       Monitor the progress

6.       Evaluate

7.       Are you ready to change?

All these sections were designed with cases studies and completed with special and funny tasks. People were separated into different teams, each consisting of 10 people. Each team had to complete their tasks in all these sections by team work. The facilitator of each team led a discussion about the learning points of the tasks. In this way the participants could share their experiences and learn from their own behavior.

We are encouraged by the feedbacks of the workshop participants:

“After this activity I realize that I can do better than before in many aspects. I can also help other people and pay more attention to the world. Everybody, come on!”

Yes! We can change!

Past is history, we set out again. It’s a long way to go. So we will always keep walking, to grow step by step. Come on, let’s go together.
